The 'Pokes on Radio

Dave Walsh & Kevin McKinney broadcast a Cowboy Football game.

All of Wyoming's games may be heard on the 25-station Cowboy Sports Network. With stations throughout Wyoming, and western South Dakota, as well as on this UW web site, fans from across the state, and across the nation may stay in touch with the Cowboys.

The flagship station for the Network is KFBC in Cheyenne, Wyo. Wyoming Sports Properties, Chuck Schroeder general manager, and Dan Hawley, senior account executive (307) 766-5020, is in charge of Network sales, as well as all advertising and marketing opportunities for UW Intercolliegiate athletics.

Describing the play-by-play action is Dave Walsh. Joining Walsh in the booth for his tenth year as color analyst is longtime Cowboy basketball broadcaster and UW Associate A.D. Kevin McKinney.

Walsh, who enters his 24th year as "Voice of the Cowboys", hails from San Diego, Calif. He received his degree in radio/television in 1975 from San Diego State University and was sports director at KVOC Radio in Casper prior to joining the Cowboys. Walsh and McKinney co-host "Sportsline Live", a sports call-in talk show on KOWB-KCGY in Laramie, three nights a week. Walsh is a nine-time "Sportscaster of the Year" for Wyoming as selected by his peers of the National Association of Sports writers and Sports casters.
