LARAMIE, Wyo. -

How many holes of golf could you play in one day?

The University of Wyoming men's and women's golf teams will answer that question for themselves on Monday, May 12 in Laramie. UW team members, coaches and program supporters will attempt to play as many holes as possible in one day at Jacoby Golf Course, having solicited sponsors who promise to donate a certain amount per hole the golfer plays.

The fundraising marathon will begin at 8 a.m. and go all day long until darkness that night. All proceeds will benefit the UW Golf Program and the local First Tee Junior Golf Program.

"This will be a fun event and we really have been encouraged with the pledges we've received so far," said Wyoming Director of Golf Joe Jensen. "Right now we have over 20 people scheduled to play and if the weather holds up we should be able to play over 1,500 holes that day. There are still openings for the public to join us and either pledge support or help us raise funds by playing themselves."

To sponsor a player or with event questions, call 307-760-0332 or email jstender@uwyo.edu.
